Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit

THE SANTA ROSA COUNTY TRAFFIC UNIT WAS REINSTATED IN 2013 AND IS CURRENTLY UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF SGT. CALABRO. THE GOAL OF THE TRAFFIC UNIT IS TO ADDRESS AGGRESSIVE DRIVING ON OUR MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND ADDRESS TRAFFIC-RELATED COMPLAINTS IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS. AS THE UNIT HAS GROWN, ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES HAVE INCLUDED CRIMINAL INTERDICTION, DUI ENFORCEMENT AND DRIVER’S LICENSE CHECKPOINTS. THE TRAFFIC UNIT ALSO WORKS CLOSELY WITH THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL.

SHERIFF JOHNSON HAS AUTHORIZED OUR TRAFFIC AND K-9 UNIT TO UTILIZE UNIQUELY MARKED PATROL VEHICLES WHAT WE CALL “GHOST LETTERING” ON THE SIDES OF THE VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES ASSIST IN OUR SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS IN TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROVIDING SAFE ROADWAYS FOR SANTA ROSA COUNTY.
