The Citizens Law Enforcement Academy
A behind the scenes look at the SRSO.
Residents of Santa Rosa County are invited to participate in the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy (CLEA), hosted by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
This FREE 10-week program meets one evening per week for approximately 2–3 hours and features a combination of classroom instruction and live demonstrations. CLEA provides participants with a comprehensive look at the many roles and responsibilities within the Sheriff’s Office and offers valuable insight into daily operations.
This program is designed to strengthen partnerships between deputies and the community by increasing understanding of agency policies, procedures, and services. Upon completion of the program, participants will be better prepared to recognize and address common myths or misconceptions about law enforcement using accurate information gained firsthand during the academy.
Participation is limited to 25 individuals per class.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a resident of Santa Rosa County
- Successfully pass a criminal background check
- Fully complete the CLEA application
